Matthew Penater has spent his entire career practicing in Estates & Trusts and its related areas, such as Tax and Business Succession.  He has significant experience working with clients of high net worth and complex family dynamics in developing effective and practical estate plans.  His broad range of Estate Planning ability includes Asset Protection, Blended Families, Estate Tax Planning, Special Needs Arrangements, Business Succession Planning, and Probate Avoidance.  As a compliment to his Estate Planning practice, he has equivalent experience administering Estates and Trusts with the same type of complex issues.  In his administration practice, Matthew not only handles the traditional probate and administration matters, but also prepares the Fiduciary Income Tax Returns and Estate (Maryland and Federal) Tax Returns as may be needed.  This well-rounded experience allows Matthew to provide complete Estates & Trusts representation to clients.

Matthew also serves as an Independent Professional Trustee.  He has represented Trustees since the beginning of his career and participated in years of trust representations.  As a Professional Trustee, it is his responsibility to ensure the assets of the trust are managed/distributed in accordance with the trust agreement and applicable law. Matthew has developed a structural platform within his practice which enables him to provide Independent Professional Trustee services of the highest caliber.
